During my time in the state House, I have fought to ensure that Northeast Philadelphia and the surrounding neighborhoods have the resources they need to keep our families and homes safe.
I am a strong and consistent supporter of police and all of our first responders. I know that the key to strengthening our neighborhoods and improving the quality of life in our district starts with ensuring the safety of our homes, schools, and businesses.
As State Representative, I have pushed for greater funding of law enforcement, and introduced legislation that protects sheriffs who transport prisoners. I also passed a bill that commemorated the life of fallen firefighter Daniel Sweeney by renaming a portion of Verree Road in his honor.
I am a strong advocate for common sense gun laws that will keep our citizens safe. I have introduced legislation that would ban large capacity magazines for firearms. I have also supported measures for stricter background checks and the reporting of lost or stolen firearms.
I will continue to make sure that law enforcement officials have all the tools they need to combat crime and blight. I will support and work to pass legislation that will keep our citizens out of harm’s way.
